    Dr. Ajith Prasad is presently the Secretary, JSS Dharwad.  He is also discharging duties as the Principal of the flagship institution…….. the JSS College.

    Dr. Ajith Prasad has Masters degree in History and Economics. He obtained a Ph.D in History from Karnatak University. He joined the JSS college Dharwad in 1973. Since then, he has not looked back.  Dr. Ajith Prasad also the co-ordinator of the IGNOU study centre. He is a member of History, Archaeology and Epigraphy sections of the Karnatak University. He is also the member on the boards of many advisory committees. He is an active member in many a forum. On the academic front, after his assuming charge, the JSS college scaled new heights and was accredited ‘A’ by NAAC. He has been the man behind many developmental activities in the JSS and actively participates in them.

    Dr. Ajith Prasad is a prolific writer, and has contributed many articles to periodicals besides authoring certain books.  His book written on Jainism, gives an in-depth knowledge of the religion, and presents its many facets in detail to the reader. He has revived the glory of the JSS College after taking charge of the college and due to his novel methods, the College was crowned Champions at the University championships for consecutive third year. He has been the brain behind introducing new trends in the JOC and Placement cell. There have been increasing number of Campus interviews and many big industrial companies, MNC’s and other organizations have scouted for professionals. This speaks of the innovative methods he has adopted. He has been responsible for KSOU & IGNOU for setting new standards in education levels……..incidentally he is at the helm of affairs in these two units in JSS campus.

    Other than being occupied with the ‘rigmarole’ of the duties of JSS College, Dr. Ajith Prasad takes keen interest in modulating the functioning of the schools in the JSS group. He is always at hand to advise, guide and help the teachers in sorting out problems.  He is known for planning and adopting novel methods in making the school ‘totally self-sufficient’.
